TMS320F28379D: Output Difference between C++ 03 mode vs Embedded C++

Greetings,

I am using CCS 10.4.0.00006 and TI Compiler Version TI v20.2.5.LTS. In the project Properties -> Build -> C2000 Compiler -> Advanced Options -> Language Options, there is a field called “C++ Dialect” with a drop down box which offers, among others, C++ 03 mode and Embedded C++. I have looked in spru514y and can only see a little on each one, main what is not supported in each. Would the compiler produce a difference in size or speed with one or the other?

The compiler option --embedded_cpp is no longer supported. It should not appear as an option to select. Because it does, I filed EXT_EP-11473 to have it removed. You are welcome to follow it with that link.

Despite the error, this is still a fair question ...

Embedded C++ is a pure subset of C++, with a few very minor differences in the library. With regard to this subset, the answer is no.
