TMS320F28379D: Non-project Build Dependencies

You can add post-build step in project setting. You can also add that project as dependencies, so it will always build the dependent projects.

I have been using the Post-build step to run the code as I debug it.  But the project I am using for the post build step is built with another IDE.  I have no way to add it from the Dependencies tab.  Is there a way to do that?

I believe it does support makefile builds.  But if that was added to the post-build step, it still won't run automatically when the build button is clicked because the CCS project doesn't need to be built.  Is there any other type of project which could build the code and could also be added as a dependency?

I am not sure if it can build any other type of projects. 

I have not done it myself, but if your other project can support Makefile based build, then you can put that in a batch file , and run batch file in post-build step of CCS project. Will that work?

No because the post-build step won't run.  The purpose of this was to debug the program which runs in the post-build step.  I will continue modifying something in the CCS project, and that will guarantee that the post build step runs.

Hi Ed,

If that other project is also makefile based, then one possibility is that you can create an Eclipse standard (non-managed) makefile based project. It is basically an Eclipse wrapper project to build an existing makefile from the Eclipse environment. You should be able to specify that project as a dependency for your CCS project.

The wrapper Eclipse project should not care. It simply calls make on the custom makefile that is associated with the project.
