Hello,

We had a board which was working fine so far.

Today while trying to update the software, we received the following error in CCS:

C28xx_CPU1: GEL Output:

Memory Map Initialization Complete

C28xx_CPU1: Flash Programmer: Warning: The configured device (TMS320F28377D), does not match the detected device (). Flash Programming operations could be affected. Please consider modifying your target configuration file.

C28xx_CPU1: Warning: Failed unlocking device (zone 1) after reset.

C28xx_CPU1: Warning: Failed unlocking device (zone 2) after reset.

C28xx_CPU1: Trouble Setting Breakpoint with the Action "Remain Halted" at 0xc0eb: (Error -1066 @ 0xC0EB) Unable to set/clear requested breakpoint. Verify that the breakpoint address is in valid memory. (Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

C28xx_CPU1: Breakpoint Manager: Retrying with a AET breakpoint

    Hi Clement,

    1. Which version of CCS are you using?  Please check for any updates and install if any.

    2. Did you change the target configuration file recently before seeing this issue?  

    3. Did you change the power supply to your board recently before seeing this issue?

    4. Did you program password on the device in the previous programming session?

    The page you are referring to seems related to an old version no ? We shouldn't be having troubles with CCS V9 do we ?

    Clément,

    CCSv9 should be fine.  Just to make sure - please check the versions of the TI C2000 Device Support, CCS Flash Content (or “Debug Server Flash”) and Debug Server packages as suggested in the FAQ.

    1) Are you able to load any code in the RAM and execute successfully?

    2) Can you send a snapshot of the TI-OTP memory range?

    3) Are you using wait boot configuration for the boot mode pins?  If not, please try that and see how it goes.

    3) I am not able to do that, we have set from external GPIO to Boot from Flash and it used to work properly...

    We are still getting following error :

    And reading from any RAM or Flash area gives us 0s.

    Clement,

    To me it looks as if the device is locked.  Can you check your map file once to see if anything is mapped to the DCSM OTP area? I know you said you did not program any passwords - please check your map file once.

    Once you confirm, I will ask our security expert to take a look at this post.

    We have checked both our map file and the one from the UART example we uploaded lately and none of them are dealing with DSCM OTP area.

    Find attached the content of the TI OTP in two formats, not sure which one was the more convenient for you so did two.

    This is not a flash programmer issue.  You are not able to load code to RAM as well and RAM is reading back all 0s. 

    It can be couple of things:

    1) Device may be power starving.  This might be the case since TI-OTP content is not correct.

    2) Passwords are programmed.  Do you have flash API included in your application to program anything in flash/OTP?  Did any power failure happen during the flash programming earlier?

    Hello,

    1) Hum... I don't see why as all other similar boards are working properly. And we have another processor on board, TMS320F280049PMS and we have no issue accessing it (they share the same 1V2 power supply).

    2) No we don't. As our code is DO178 certified and we don't have the FLASH API source, we load it in RAM through CAN when we try to rewrite software when box is closed.

    I don't think we had a failure of power during flash programming, what would happen if it was the case ?
