TMS320F28388D: Software Triggered Interrupt

Hello,

Whether the interrupt triggered by software using "OR IFR " instruction for INT1 to INT14 is Maskable or Non-Maskable interrupt? What happens when an interrupt is raised by software using OR IFR instruction(for INT1 to INT14) and a hardware interrupt occurs at the same time? Which one runs first?

Please refer to sec 3.3 of https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spru430f/spru430f.pdf for more details on maskable interrupts.

Can you pls help explain on how you are intending to use OR IFR or the use case around it (They are not supposed to be used when PIE is enabled) ?

Its better to use PIEIFR which would be more appropriate if there is a PIE in the system.

Hello Karthikeyan,

Sorry, I intend to use only INT13 or INT14 which corresponds to CPU timer1 and CPU timer2 interrupt respectively. Since these two interrupts are not connected to PIE, I assumed that using software triggered interrupt for INT13/INT14 should not be a problem. Am I wrong here?

The use case for software triggered interrupt is for task switching (equivalent to System call).
