We are interested in port the firmware from other makers' MCU to the TMS320F280025. The other MCU has 16KB of RAM memory, but now that we are trying to port the code to the TMS320F280025 MCU that is supposed to have 24 KB of RAM memory, we are running out of RAM memory even by optimizing the code.

Do you have any recommendations? Having the other microcontroller less RAM we don't know why the 24 KB of RAM in the TMS320F280025 is not enough.

Increase compiler optimization, and tell the compiler to decrease code size. Typical options are: --opt_level=4 --opt_for_speed=0 --opt_for_space. Please search the C28x compiler manual for these options.

Please let me know if this suggestion resolves the problem.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately not even with optimization I have enough RAM. I am getting the next error:

error #10099-D: program will not fit into available memory, or the section contains a call site that requires a trampoline that can't be generated for this section. placement with alignment/blocking fails for section ".const" size 0x825page 0. Available memory ranges:
RAMGS0 size: 0x7f8 unused: 0x7f8 max hole: 0x7f8

Why can't you place the .const section in Flash?

Thank you for asking. I going to close this issue. I did not have experience with the linker file, but now I can move .const and other stuff to FLASH.
