Hello,

Good day.

Our customer has a question regarding the TMS320F28335. Kindly see below.

""PGFA package is out of stock while PTPS is available. This is a problem for us, as we cannot place an order on ti.com
When used in 85°C max environement, can we use PTPS package while not connecting Exposed Pad ?
If EP is for heat dissipation only and not for electrical purpose, it should be possible while remaining in < 85°C environment ?

    Cedrick,

    The customer is correct, the Exposed Pad is not electrically connected to ground and exists to support enhanced heat dissipation required by the higher operational temp supported by the "S" temperature options. 

    If the device will be used with the same temp constraints as the "A" temp, then the Exposed Pad can be left unconnected allowing the PTPS to substitute directly for the PGFA in this case.
