TMS320F28069M: TIDA-01507

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8305-Q1, MOTORWARE

Hi Team,

The customer downloaded the TIDA-01507 reference materials on TI's official website, and directly used the gerber files and schedules inside to make the PCB board, and purchased a PMSM motor with resolver.

The TIDA-01507 reference material also has software information\TIDA-01507\tidcet1\TIDA-01507\sw\solutions\instaspin_servo\boards\TIDA-01507\f28x\f2806xM\projects\ccs\proj_resolver01b. After the board came back, it was tested that the power supply of the board was normal, and the program was compiled and downloaded according to the debugging document of TIDA-01507. He found that the initial program can only compile flash mode programs. According to the instructions "Resolver-based Motor Control Reference Design Supporting BLDC Motors and C2000Tm MCUs", he downloaded it and set the gMotorVars.Flag_Run_Identify variable to 1 in the watch window. The motor does not rotate, the red light D201 of the board is flashing, the yellow light D200 is off or always on, and the green light is off. He did not change anything in this program.

Customer would like to know can the proj_resolver01b project of this design clock directly turn the motor? Still need to change or add something to turn the motor? How to perform motor parameter identification on this board?

The attachment is to download the TIDA-01507 program proj_resolver01b from GTI official website: tidcet1.zip

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hello Annie,

Thank you for your question. TIDA-01507 is now obsolete and the replacement is TIDA-01527.

Based on your questions it sounds like the issues the customer is facing sound more directly connected to the DRV8305-Q1 found in that design. Just to inform you the PGA411 used in this TI reference design is now under NDA, so I would like to reinforce that it might be best to advised the customer to move to the newer TI reference design since it would be easier to get support for that solution due to the current status of PGA411. I will be reassigning this so that it may get to the proper owners.

    Best,

    Isaac

  • The reference software is based on the motorWare with Instaspin, and uses the angle from the resolver to replace the angle from the FAST estimator, so you might refer to the instaspin and user's guide to run the lab for motor parameters identification.

Download motorware and follow the lab guide to understand these lab projects. The lab02a/b/c supports motor identification.
