TMS320F28027F: how to choose fluxgate sensor or hall effect sensor for my drive.

hi every one ,

in TI industrial servo drive kit (TMDSIDDK_v1.0) we have 6A flux gate LEM sensor while the leg-shunt resistor sensors are calculated to give 10A ?

so this make me confuse , so the question here become how to choose the right sensor for IGBT module.

let's assume that we have 75A 1200v IPM(150A Pulsed Collector Current) and we want to choose the right sensor for it ,please explain how to do that ,

IDDK is a general purpose platform to show case various current sensing methods. Look at them separately, dont have to use both together.

If your application requires sensing 75A peak, I would consider using 150A sensor to give twice margin. For sure, shunt resistor will not be an option as it will lead to excessive heating and related inaccuracies too. Both safety issue and accuracy issue.

according to what you said TI should use 40A flux gate for 20A module, now they used 6A LEM sensor!!?

would you please explain about that ?
in some of VFD's for 150A power module they use 100A Flux gate sensor ,which makes me confuse

The module may be 20A, but our application does not need that high current sensing, and 6A was sufficient.
