TMS320F280049C: TB synchronization signal of F28004x ePWM module

Hi Team,

It is mentioned in the manual of F28004x that the TB module can load the value of TBPHS into TBCLK after receiving the synchronization signal, and can select the counting direction of TBCLK.

Customer would like to know is it possible to load the value of TBPHS after receiving this synchronization signal (generated by DCAEVT1.sync of CMPSS), but change the counting direction of TBCLK, and change the current counting mode from up counting to down counting, as shown below This figure realizes the function?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to change the direction of the counter after receiving the synchronization signal.
This can be done by configuring TBCTL[PSHDIR] bit. This is applicable to all sync sources including DCAEVT1.sync

Hi，

The customer wants to confirm whether it is possible to not load the value in the TPHHS register to the CTR after receiving the synchronization signal, and still maintain the current CTR value, and only change the counter direction.

Hi Annie,

This is not possible, load of TBPHS and PHSDIR will happen together when the synchronization happens.
