Hi All,
I have been having a conversation with a TI FAE about transitioning to TI MCUs and one of the recommendations was to use the TMS320F series. I have a few questions before I can decide which path to go. We need a solution that is -55C to 125C or higher.
The last time I used the TMS320F, it took months to setup basic items by digging through the programming manuals for the parts. This was for 3-phase applications in the early 2000s. Now our product needs are greater. We have at least 16ADC channels and we use external ICs to add more A/D capability. We also use multiple i2c channels, CAN, Ethernet but we do not need to use all the communication peripherals all the time but we have the code base set up so we can select to enable and use peripherals when we need to.
Does TI have a tool similar to STM32s CUBEMX for setting up the MCU as well as generating code that has low overhead? The code generation helps add/build/configure peripherals quickly which referencing certain sections of the MCU manual for additional settings or issues.
Is there another line of MCUs from TI that I should be looking at that would make the transition to a -55C rated part easier?
Thanks.
