How can I verify the sysbios or xdctools download ,e.g.

Hi Steve,

I understand your question. We typically do an exhaustive pre-release validation and functional testing. There has not been a need for us to generate the MD5 or any other form of checks. Please let us know if you have seen that we do provide that OR if you have a specific requirement that you are trying to fulfill. We will look into it further based on your feedback.

Hello Krishna,

MD5 or SH256 has to do with the integrity of the executable and not how it was tested?

How does TI protect against the executable being replaced with something that contains malware/spyware?

CCS has an MD5, so why doesn't sys/bios/xdctool have one? Actually, I think MD5 should be replaced by SHA256 or better.

Hi Steve,

You are right, the algorithms you are asking about have to do with data integrity. Loss of integrity will result in loss of functionality...that is why I talking about functional testing.

We have not had planned on meeting such a requirement and it is not a big concern for us. In areas of functional safety compliant software, we do have such concerns and we take the appropriate measures.

Please let us know if this is a real customer requirement or you are only expressing a concern about potential corruption due to malware/spyware?

Are you saying that TI is not concerned about customers downloading software from TI's website that has malware/spyware?

We are very concerned and have the appropriate protections on the website itself. It is reasonable to expect the same on the customer's end. This may not be a measure that is implemented at the individual component level and it may be something that we will consider in the future.
