TMDSCNCD28388D: Closed-loop Design

I am evaluating if TMDSCNCD28388D is capable of running my voltage regulator. The converter is operating at 2-3MHz. A high-resolution ADC is needed for the feedback loop control. May I know if you have any guidance to rule of thumb to determine how much resolution of ADC is needed for a practical design?

This MCU has 12bit 3.5MSPS ADC with ENOB of 11.2bits. This is sufficient for sensing your voltage regulator output with better than 0.1% accuracy.

11bit => sensing accuracy = 1/2048 = 0.05%

Hi Shamin,

Thanks for your quick response. I guess the decision-making involves the design of bandwidth, phase margin, steady-state error, DPWM resolution, etc. Is there any article giving a tutorial on this topic?
