TMS320F28384D: Lowest Power Option

Part Number: TMS320F28384D

Hi C2000 team!

This is a generic C2000 question (not related to the PN). Which ones have the lowest power consumption? Looking at them many of them have the same general specs but I'm sure there are some differences.

- 80pins is preferred

- Ram and Flash don't need to be the highest value so for now up to 512kB is fine

Any recommendations?

Hi Sarah,

If I understand correctly your question is on a particular device which has different part numbers/package types we still have same spec, correct? Just want to be clear you are not asking about which part to choose across the C2000 family of devices.

Hi Nirav,

It can be any C2000, whatever is lowest power, has 80 pins, and 512kB of ram.

Ok understood, does it have to be 512KB RAM only or total memory RAM+FLASH has to be 512KB?

Hi Sarah,

The only devices with that much memory will be F2837x, F2838x, and F2807x. F2807x is going to be the lowest power option, although using F2837x or F2838x with a de-rated clock should give similar results. None of these support an 80-pin package (smallest will be 100-pin QFP).

F28004x will have much lower power, but- total memory is a little less than requested: 356kB. It does have an 80-pin package.
