XDS100V2 programming issue

Hi all,

We are having some trouble programming our C2000 based custom board with the Spectrum XDS100V2 emulator. We are programming our boards after production, but some micros (TMS320F2806) are dying, approximately 10% of the programmed devices. Each board has 2 micros, and there is no board with both micros death, so if some micro dies, there is always one of the two alive.

We have checked the board before programming and it is OK, but after programming the micro dies, so we think that the problem may be the XDS, maybe some required connection or so.

    Asier,

    Can you give some more detail on what you mean by the micro dies?  Does JTAG access no longer work, or device cannot be programmed, or device is consuming >>current, etc?

    We have managed to solve the problem by programming the micros in the laboratory. Considering that in the office and the lab the programming is correct, the problem seems to be a grounding issue, since it only occurs when programming the micros in production area (still not sure about this).

    Answering to your question and in case it happens to someone else, the micros did not work because they were not programmed, it was during programming when the micros died (I guess because of some irregularity in the JTAG voltage).
