TMS320F280049: F280049 firmware update from another device

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi TI Team,

For one of our custom application for firmware update we have implemented the LDFU from other microcontroller, using SCIA pins ie GPIO28 and GPIO29 we were able to implement the function from one of our microcontroller to the launchpad. but we need those pins for other functions so can we implement the firmware update from SCIB pins GPIO56 and GPIO57?

Also What are all the basic schematic requirements needed for Ti controller for LDFU from other microcontroller over UART?

Thanks and Regards

Anju

  • Anju,

I believe this question is already answered in the other thread. If you are loading a flash programming kernel of some kind you can modify it to use any pins you want.

If you are trying to use the "boot from UART/SCI" boot mode the pins are fixed to GPIO28/29.

As for schematic requirements: if you are using SCI with a flash kernal its pretty simple, connect TX to RX and RX to TX and ensure the ground planes are combined. No fancy Pull resistors or anything required for SCI. If you are trying to Boot to SCI you will need to pull bootmode GPIOs to ensure the device starts in the correct mode.

    Regards,
    Cody
