TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT output current limit

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

I'm currently using TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT with the F28335 control card.

I'm conducting an experiment where I have to test the functionality of the IGBTs on the inverter and I would like to apply more than 11A (p2p) of phase current to the motor at 220V(each phase so 305V DC link)

Unfortunately, I saw on the datasheet that TMDSHVMTRPFCKITs rated current is limited at 10A.

Is the current limited because of the IGBT module or other components?

Is there any method of outputting more than 11A(phase current) with the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT?

Thanks in advance

  • Yes, the current is limited by the inverter power module and current sampling circuit. The maximum peak to peak current is 19.89A on the high voltage kit, but you must reserve about 30% buffer, so the kit should be ok if you mean the 11A is maximum peak to peak current.

By the wat, we don't recommend you to change the current sampling circuit to increase the supporting current that could damage the power module.
