TMS320F28377S: USB instead of CAN communication for data communication related problems

Part Number: TMS320F28377S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hello all,

I designed the board by myself using 28377S PZP (100pin), and through reference 2837xD Controll Card, only the micro interface (D+,D_,VBUS,GND,ID)  is left,  D+ and D_ are connected to USB_DP_DN2 and USB_DM_DN2. I'm new to USB communication, there are some questions during the design process:

1. As the USB controller in the DSP serves as the slave device, whether the PC needs to power the USB to the VBUS, and the external power enable (EPEN GPIO120) and power failure (PFLT GPIO123) need not be set, and the 28377S PZP (100pin) does not these pins.

2. Relationship between VBUS and EPEN?  How do I set EPEN and PFLT?

3. Examples providied in C2000WARE are based on the way of converting USB signals to UART. If the hardware does not have FTDI,  can USB be simulated into serial port mode?

4. Is it possible to communicate directly with USB without using UART, because the transmission speed will be affected. I want to use USB signal to replace CAN signal for data transmission and improve

transmission speed ,so how to set up and debug USB, is there any related examples?

5. Can the functions of USB baud rate and maximum transmission speed be set?  They're all sealed in C2000WARE so far as I can see .

6. Does D+,D_ need to be connected with pull or down resistance to ensure correct identification?

7. What is the ID signal and do I need to connect it out?

I am looking forward to your help solving the problem so that I can take the next step.

Regards

sarah
