TMS320F28034: FFT sampling points

Hi champs,

    As we can see, the number of sampling points in the FFT library is preset to 128, 256, 512, 1024.

    Now my customer use FFT to preset it to 512 sampling points, but they actually only sample 500 points, will it cause errors in the FFT analysis results?

    Could you please kindly help me about that? Thank you very much!

    Hi,

    If i understand you correctly, the customer wants to use a 500 point FFT output? You can use the 512 point FFT. The output resolution would be slightly smaller but you will lose (512-500)/2 = 6 frequency bins of information at the extreme end.
