TMS320F28069: CCS: Variable values in watch window do not match memory value

Hi all,

I have what I suspect to be a bug in CCS, namely variable values remain at zero in watch window, while inspection of memory shows they are non-zero. Perhaps relevant: so far this only happened to values in shared CPU/CLA memory, while entered a breakpoint in CLA code. A snip showing the discrepancy:

In the meanwhile, can you add the following in the expressions window and let me know what you see:

*(unsigned int *) 0x14A5

*(unsigned char *) 0x14A5

I encountered it again, with a different variable/address. I do get the right value if i dereference the address:

I wonder if it has something to do with CLA being 32 bit oriented

Hi Joost,

You are correct, there is a type difference between CLA and C28 and this may be causing the issue. CLA int is 32-bit and C28 int is 16-bit.

I did use 'explicit-length' types (ie Uint16), I would expect it would read it correctly. Anyways, I'll keep this in mind. Thanks for the help. Regards, Joost
