F28M35H52C: Ethernet Magnetics

Part Number: F28M35H52C

Hi ,

Is the ethernet magnetic fields is required all ethernet phy-rj45 designs ? ( I think f28m35h52c development kit's  ethernet hardware design  doesn't contain magnetic field , is it true?)

The ethernet chip used in development kit LAN8710A-EZK's  reference design is using magnetics field.but kit doesn't contain it.   https://cdn.ozdisan.com/ETicaret_Dosya/613250_233242.pdf

i will design my own card according to the your answers,

Thank you,

  • Hello,

I think there has been a slight translation issue, but I believe you are asking if the RJ45 connector has integrated magnetics. Is this correct? Please note that "magnetic fields" means something different.

Yes the RJ45 connector(J0011D01BNL) does have integrated magnetics. These are recommended to help reject common mode noise. Depending on the source of the noise manufacturers typically offer a few different configurations of "Chokes" to help reduce the various noise sources. It looks to me that this board is using the most common form of choke reducing the common mode noise coming from the cable.
