TMS320F280041: Help with Instaspin Functions

Hi team,

Working on some code clean up and ran into a few functions that are not clearly explained in the Instaspin User's Guide: SPRUHJ1H. Can someone help explain these functions and what they do? Are there any auxiliary application notes we should be referring to?

EST_isTrajError()

EST_updateTrajState()

EST_isError()

EST_getIntValue_Id_A()

EST_updateState()

EST_configureTraj()

These functions are stored in the mask ROM, so there are not detailed description about these function in the user's guide. These functions are must-have for running the motor with FAST estimator. EST_isTrajError() and EST_isError() are just for checking if there is any error when FAST estimator is executed.

If the customer is not using the FAST estimator, would they be able to remove these functions? Or would they need to stay there no matter what?

Yes, these functions are just for FAST estimator. You can remove all of the functions with "EST_" prefix if without using the FAST.
