TMS320F28379D: How to Start Core 2 from Wait Boot Mode – Redux

In spruhm8i you need to refer 4.10.8.1 and 4.10.8.2

Table 4-41 in section 4.10.8.2 has a column dedicated to C1TOC2IPCFLGx, and specifically bits 31 and 0. It seems to be used as a status field once the command has completed. But to complete the command, it must be started first. I would assume that one or both of those flags is/are used for that purpose. But the text only addresses the use of the bits as status. So some questions.

In the header of that column, what does the '?' mean?
For the status, since only a byte is specified, I assume that only the lowest 8 bits should be used?
Assuming the two bits are used to start the command, how are they used?
If they are not used to start the command, how is the command started?
Is there a flowchart which indicates what should be done?

Just keeping this thread alive.

Once the command is written it will be auto started. The IPC write will trigger a Interrupt on CPU2 in which the command will be processed.

? - is just to indicate 0/0 of bi 31, the values of which for different commands is listed in the table.

Is the writing of the command accomplished with the IPCRECVCOM register or the C1TOC2IPCFLG register or something else?

OK.  It think I am starting to understand.  Tell me if this is correct.  The process to write the parameters into IPCRECVADDR and IPCRECVDATA, and then the desired command into IPCRECVCOM?  At this point, the HW takes over and performs the requested operation.  When it is complete, C2TOC1IPCFLG[31] and C2TOC1IPCFLAG[0] will be updated by the HW.
