Hi experts,

Do we have Safety Qualification Kit of UniFlash? My customer need to qualify their use of the UniFlash to functional safety standards (ISO 26262). 

They also have two questions:

1. How to evaluate the programmer(uniflash)? What level is TI and TD should be?

2. If there is a bug in the programmer(uniflash), is it possible that it seems you have successful burned the software, but in fact it is not successful, or even some parts are corrupted. This will cause an unexpected function error on the MCU.

    Angela,

    Units programmed by the UniFlash are thoroughly checked to ensure that the flash bits are erased and programmed to the correct voltage level.  If needed, customer can send some UniFlash programmed units to TI and TI can check them.  NOTE:  This is not needed.  But, if customer needs it for any certification reasons, they can do so.

    We do not have the Safety Qualification Kit.  As you know, UniFlash is not used at application's run-time; it is used offline to program the image in to the flash.  What we need to ensure is that the flash image is programmed correctly with out leavings any bits unprogrammed. 

    We have a checksum feature that can be used to ensure that the device is programmed correctly.  Our compiler team can guide on how to generate the checksum for the compiled image (let us know if you want us to route to them for this info).  You can compare that checksum against the checksum generated by the flash plugin after it programs the image in to the flash.  OR you can program the image with a 3rd party tool (like say Codeskin or C2000 GANG) and compare that image to that of the image programmed by the UniFlash. 

    #1) Not sure how TI and TD are applicable here.  

    #2) No.  We suggest you to check the checksum (in UniFlash) after the program operation.
