TMS320F28377D: Error adding flash API lib

Can you try including the F021_F2837xD_C28x.h file in the flash_programming_cpu01.c file and compile again. It could be that the file needs to be included from the c file that is calling the functions.

Our customer has already included F021_F2837xD_C28x.h in the file in the Drivers.h. Here is the screenshot.

If you were to right click on one of the Flash API functions that is undefined, would it take you to where all the prototypes are defined? If not, the location of the include may need to change to be in the file calling the functions.

Hello Anu,

According to our customer, when they Right-click the Flash API functions it will take to the F021.h, and when they Right-click the variable in F021.h (for example Fapi_LibraryInfoType）it will take to F021_types.h.

Need your continuous assistance on this.

I looked over the project files, I see that the pragmas for .TI.ramfunc are commented out. What is the reason for these not being present? Since the project is being run out of Flash, certain functions need to be copied to RAM at run time. The Flash API also needs to be running from RAM. Please refer to the flash_programming_cpu01 example, in the linker command file for the example you will see how .TI.ramfunc and the Flash API library are grouped together. Can you try having the same structure in your linker command file and including the .TI.ramfunc pragmas in the C++ format?

Hello Anu,

According to the customer, the original project is C++ files. They relink the flash_programming_cpu01 example by C++ way and the #pragma CODE_SECTION(Example_CallFlashAPI,ramFuncSection) has an error warning of "badly formed pragma" so they comment it.

Anu,I notice that the project does not define _TMS320C28xx,in the F021_TYPES if I define by myself it will has the error warning "F021 Flash API requires GCC language extensions. Use the 鈥揼cc option"  I see the project in the consult is not define _TMS320C28xx too,by the defice is 28xx family.

Hi Hawk,

_TMS320C28xx macro is defined by the compiler. This should not be defined in the application.

To use C functions in cpp files, the header file should be wrapped within extern "C". Can you try adding it in F021.h file (and other headers if applicable)

Eg:

#define F021_H_

#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif

...
<header file contents>
...


#ifdef __cplusplus
}
#endif

#endif /*F021_H_*/

Hi,Veena, thank you and Anu. I add extern "C" as you suggest. The number of error warning become less.But Fapi_serviceWatchdogTimer ,Fapi_setupEepromSectorEnable and Fapi_setupBankSectorEnable still warning as unresolved symbol.

I believe the function declarations of these functions as well are inside extern "C"{}.

Are you, by any chance, invoking these functions in a source file without having #include F021.h?

I have try this by Right-click the Flash API functions and it will take to the F021.h. And before adding extern "C" other function like "Fapi_issueProgrammingCommand" also has the warning of unresolved symbol.After add the  extern "C" it disappears. So I wonder if the three functions is unique.
