TMS320F28379D: E_unpluggedInterrupt intr# 19

Interrupt 19 is the illegal instruction (ITRAP) interrupt. Somewhere an invalid instruction is being fetched by the CPU. Are you able to single step through the code and determine if there's a particular line of code where the illegal instruction error occurs? Is there a particular function that makes it fail?

I single step through main() where I start 4 pthread tasks.  I then get to the BIOS_start() and as soon as I step over BIOS_start() I receie the error,

Can you put breakpoints in your threads and see if they are getting executed? I'm wondering if it's a line in one of your tasks that's causing the ITRAP or if it's not even making it far enough in BIOS_start() for the threads to start executing.

Do you have any interrupts enabled?

I had to work on some other tasks recently,  but I set some breakpoints in the 3 tasks I have running and also stepped through the code.  The error seems to occur at different places within the code. I am still trying to put my finger on it.

The inconsistency may mean that it's interrupt related. Have you enabled any interrupts?

Have you tried checking ROV to see if it can identify any issues?
