TMS320F28379D: Looking for CCS11 Output Format Description

Good Morning,

I am using CCS11. In project Properties->Build->C2000 Hex Utility->Output Format Options, one of the options is "Binary (for DSKs) (--binary, -b)". Is there a document which explains this format?

I was expecting it to be documented in section 12.15 of:

But surprisingly it is not there.

My understanding is that it is simply a standard raw binary format:

Note that --binary ignores holes between sections

Hi Ki,

Thank you for the first link. As you said, it doesn’t contain the desired info, but it does open a door to other info which will be helpful in the future.

I did some experimentation with the DSK format, and as you suggested, it doesn’t produce an exact image. But the TI-TXT format does. For our purposes, it simply needs to be converted to binary which I do in the post build step. (I was hoping to remove that step.)
