CCSTUDIO3: Using CCS 3.3 with 64-bit Windows 10

Part Number: CCSTUDIO3

Hi Champs,

My customer want to use CCS 3.3 with 64-bit Windows 10. They have read this link (https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccs_ccs33-windows10.html) and followed this link, but there are still some problems:

When using CCS3.3 under 64-bit win10 system, no error will be reported when the software is compiled. But using the XDS510 emulator cannot complete the programming. The error message is shown in the figure below. And in windows, in the "Device Manager" customer cannot recognize the XDS510 emulator after installing the driver in 64-bit system. But it can be recognized in 32-bit system.

The customer asked the manufacturer of the emulator, and the manufacturer said that XDS510 can support 64-bit systems. So I want to know if the reason why XDS510 cannot connect on 64-bit win10 is because CCS3.3 does not fully support 64-bit systems? Is there any solution to this problem?

② About the using of compiler, my customer have copying all the content in CCS10(ccs\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-c2000_20.4.2.LTS) then paste them into CCS3.3(C2000\cgtools), and there is an error connecting to the target. Is there something wrong with the customer's operation?

  • Hello Julia,

The customer asked the manufacturer of the emulator, and the manufacturer said that XDS510 can support 64-bit systems. So I want to know if the reason why XDS510 cannot connect on 64-bit win10 is because CCS3.3 does not fully support 64-bit systems? Is there any solution to this problem?

    Please see this section:

So while CCS 3.3 can run on 64-bit Windows, there is an additional dependency on the emulation drivers for the emulator that the customer is using. The customer is using an emulator from SEED. If SEED does not have 64-bit support for their drivers, then they will not be able to use SEED emulator with CCSv3.3 on 64-bit Windows.

    Thanks
