Legacy Simulation Test on v2.1 will not execute with CCS v3.3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I have a set of simulator based test that were previously run using v2.1 of CCS back in 2006.  Well, fast forward to 2011, and we didn't have the copy of CCS that they used back then, and I'm trying to migrate to CCS v3.3.  I did find that changes to the Gel file needed to be updated and made.  But now, I'm stuck with another issue.  My Gel file is as follows:

StartUp()
{
    GEL_MapOn();
    GEL_MapReset();

    /* GEL_MapAdd(address, page, length, readable, writeable); */
    GEL_MapAdd(0x0000, 0, 0xFFFF, 1, 1);
    GEL_MapAdd(0x8000, 1, 0x7FFF, 1, 1);
    GEL_MapAdd(0x0, 2, 0x8, 1, 1);

    Run_Test1();

}

Run_Test1()
{
    GEL_Load("C:\\CCStudio_v3.3\\myprojects\\motor.out");

    GEL_Reset();
    GEL_Restart();

    GEL_Go( abort );
    GEL_Exit();
}

Everything works up to the GEL_GO(abort).  I get the following error and the system goes into an inifinite loop.

Trouble Setting Breakpoint with the Action "Terminate GEL_Go()" at 0x143c: Error 0x00000008/-1066 Error during: Break Point,  Cannot set/verify breakpoint at 0x0000143C
Breakpoint Manager: Retrying with a Legacy Hardware breakpoint

The code being compiles are specific for each test point, and called via the command line.  the abort is a valid symbol in the map file and is at the 0x0000143c address.

When I run it manually via the command line and set a software breakpoint, it works fine, however the output.txt file is not written.  It doesn't look lie the fopen() is working.

I'm using the TMS320C2000 as my hardware setup with the XDS510PP_PLUS set on 0x378.  I have the following setup instructions for CCS v2.1:

Double click ‘Setup CC 2000’ icon on the desktop.

On the Import Configuration Screen, click Close.

In ‘Available Board/Simulator Types’, click on ‘Install a Device Driver’ in the middle column.

Select device c:\ti\drivers\sdgo24x.dvr. Click Open. Click OK.

Select sdgo24x and double click sdgo24x.

Click Next on ‘Board Name & Data File’.

Set value = 0x378 for Board Properties.

For Processor Config, click TMS320C24xx in ‘Available Processor’.

Click ‘Add Single’.

Click Finish. Goto File à Save.

Goto File à Exit.

Click ‘Setup Hardware’ powerup.

I can run target tests, but it's these simulator tests that are not working, and i'm wondering if there's something special I need to setup to tell CCS v3.3 that this is a simulator and not executing on Flash.

Dustin

Thanks in advance
