TMS320F28379D: GPIO setting during program download.

Hi,

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to control the output of GPIO pins during a reset or download of a new program. I have a few of the GPIOs connected in PWM mode to power devices. The voltage on the power devices needs to be removed before downloading a new program either to the flash or ram. Is there a way to set the output values of the GPIO when a new program is being downloaded or would that need a purely hardware solution to avoid unexpected values at the GPIO output during program download.

during reset or boot up all GPIOs are in input mode (high impedance). Would that work for your application?

Thanks a lot. That helps. I guess adding appropriate external pull up ( or pull down ) resistors at the gpio would then be sufficient for defining the startup state of every GPIO right? I was trying to find this information in the technical reference manual but I wasnt sure where to look for it.

Yes external pull up/down would define the state during boot and reset.
