LAUNCHXL-F28379D: Difference between LAUNCHXL-F28379D & TMDSDOCK28379D

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSDOCK28379D,

Hi Guys,

I am generating code from Matlab models to control a PMSM motor.

Earlier I was using TMDSDOCK28379D board to control the PMSM motor in HIL simulation

Now I am using LAUNCHXL-F28379D board to control the same PMSM motor in HIL simulation but the control algorithm is not working as expected.

I have made the updates to model based on the differences in crystal frequency and also I have verified the IO's (Current sensing and PWMs).

I am using OPAL-RT simulation kit to simulate PMSM motor.

I know the information that I have provided is very vague, but any information on how to debug this issue will be helpful.

Thanks and Regards,

Aniket M.

  • Hi Aniket,

I have made the updates to model based on the differences in crystal frequency and also I have verified the IO's (Current sensing and PWMs).

The LAUNCHXL-F28379D uses a 10 MHz external crystal and the TMDSDOCK28379D uses a 20 MHz crystal. Have you already made the proper changes to the sysctrl config to reflect this difference?

For Matlab simulation help I'll need to pass the question to another expert.

    Best,

    Kevin

  • Aniket,

To add to what Kevin said, if you open the Hardware Settings in Simulink, there should be a dropdown choice for the F28379D LaunchPad, which should handle the differences in the controlCARD vs LP as you both mentioned.  Can you confirm you have made this change?

    Best,

    Matthew
