TMS320F2812: Can EMU0/EMU1 pins be connected directly to VDDIO without pull-up resistor?

Part Number: TMS320F2812

Hello

I don't need the debugging features associated with the EMU0/EMU1 pins of the TMS320F2812.

The SPRS174V p. 13-14 states for the EMU0 and EMU1 pins the following:

NOTE: An external pullup resistor is recommended on this pin. The value of this resistor should be based on the drive strength of the debugger pods applicable to the design. A 2.2-kΩ to 4.7-kΩ resistor is generally adequate.

Based on what I can read on various e2e forum posts, it is important to add this external pullup resistor especially if the MCU operates in a noisy environment, where noise on the pin can give rise to wierd behaviour.

My question is: Since I don't need the pins, is it OK to simply connect the pins directly to VDDIO, i.e. without going through a 2.2-kΩ to 4.7-kΩ resistor?

Thanks in advance
