TMS320F28375S: 16 bit sampling of TMS320F28375

Part Number: TMS320F28375S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hello,

I was asked a couple of questions regarding the TMS320F28375, can you help me with the inquires.

Would you help to review and advise these questions?

  1. Does the 28375 16-bit ADC sampling have to operate in differential mode?
  2. In addition to modifying the parameters of AdcSetMode() in the 16-bit ADC sampling software of 28375, what needs to be modified?
  3. Can you provide F28375 16-bit ADC sampling demo (both software and hardware settings)?

Thank you,

  • Robert,

I need to double check with some others, but I believe that we do allow SE sampling in 16-bit mode.  There will be some decrease in AC performance(SINAD, etc) and overall linearity due to increased noise floor that Differential Inputs help reduce.

Only the SetMode should need to be modified

For #3, I think you should be able to take an existing 16-bit example in C2000Ware and change the SetMode, but I'll see if we have anything we can share.

I'll reply back with more info tomm.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Robert,

After speaking with some folks, 16-bit SE is not officially supported/tested on this device.  It is support/tested on the F28388D devices; and the performance will be somewhat similar to what we give in that device DS, however there is some offset correction that does not exist in the device cal for 16-bit SE on the F2837x device that will result in greater offset error on the F2837x.

    Best,

    Matthew
