TMS320F280025: DCAN/ADCA&C/Driver libray examples

Part Number: TMS320F280025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi Team,

Good day! We need your help to explain further the following question below for our customer.

Our customer is new to F28002x series programming and they have already downloaded C2000ware 4.0.0 and spruin7a.pdf technical datasheet and gone through it. They need to clear some uncertainity regarding this series of programming. Could you please help.

1. Why do you call 'ADCA' and 'ADCC' and what are difference between them?

2. How to start programming with driver libray examples. Please share us the needed documents.

3. Which is the Flash programmer tool to load program through SCI?.

Thank you so much for your support.

Best regards,

Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for promoting F28002x to our customers!  Please see responses below:

    1. Why do you call 'ADCA' and 'ADCC' and what are difference between them?

F28002x was derived from a predecessor device which has 3 ADC modules (ADCA, ADCB and ADCC).  To maintain compatibility with that part, ADCA and ADCC were retained for F28002x, which has 2 ADC modules.

    2. How to start programming with driver libray examples. Please share us the needed documents.

Hopefully customer already has the board/hardware, if not we recommend them to start with F280025 LaunchPad as the driverlib examples are built around the launchpad.  A good starting point will be C2000 Academy as this covers C2000 Essentials, hands-on trainings, C2000 Architecture basics, the different peripherals (control, communication, analog) and getting started with C2000.  There is also a section on CCS (Code Composer Studio) and C2000Ware which would be essential to running the driverlib examples.

    3. Which is the Flash programmer tool to load program through SCI?.

There are different flash tools available to support flash code programmation for F28002x.  One of the tools is  C2000-Gang, but there are other 3rd party programmers that cater to programming on a production scale.  For development, customer can start with UNIFLASH if only a handful of parts are required.  Customer can also program the code through flash in CCS fairly easily, like loading the code in local SRAM through the use of flash linker command file as part of C2000Ware.

Above links should provide a good starting point for your customer.  If any specific topic that the customer is looking for, or needs answers or clarifications and not covered in the above links, then please encourage customers to use this forum site to post questions as there are subject matter experts and community members that are able to help.

    Best regards,

    Joseph
