TMS320F280023: how to recover ADC after VREFHI reduced from VDDA+0.3V?

Part Number: TMS320F280023

Customer reported that if 3.9V is provided to VREFHI, ADC could not work as expected. And ADC did not behave correctly after the VREFHI reduced from 3.9V to 3.3V, and the AD result was a random value showed.

Is there any scheme to detect and recover ADC during such condition? They afraid in actual applications the external voltage could not keep stable as expected.

  • Hi Aki,

Please note that VREFHI should not go beyond VDDA, per device specification.  VREFHI of 3.9V exceeds the maximum VDDA specification of 3.63V as well and this VREFHI condition is not an operating mode that is supported by the ADC.  This condition will cause abnormal operation of the ADC

Please advise customer to keep ADC VREFHI to the prescribed specifications.

    Best regards,

    Joseph
