TMS320F28335: Product longevity

Part Number: TMS320F28335

We are using the TMS320F28335 in one of our applications.

Is there a longevity program on this part ? if so, when can we expect this part to become obsolete ?

Sincerely,

Gaspard DESMOULINS

  • Gaspard,

Thanks for reaching out to TI.  I would refer to our corporate policy on device lifetimes: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/product-life-cycle.html

Currently the TMS320F2833x series of devices is in "Active" Status.  You can see that a device is NOT eligible for obsolescence if there has been orders within the last 5 years or current customer demand.

I can comment that this device has customer demand and current orders as of today.  At a minimum this would guarantee the device will remain from TI for the next 5 years, assuming no more orders came in from today(which is not the case).

If there does come a time where the above criteria is met, TI will give 1 year notice for the obsolescence with option for lifetime buy.

I will add that C2000 has devices that are older than the F28335(20+ years) that are still in full active status today.  Our key markets are industrial and automotive, where we know there are long lifetimes and are happy to support customer demand through that life cycle.

    Best,
    Matthew
