CCSTUDIO-C2000: CCS graph tool shows cpu terminated

Part Number: CCSTUDIO-C2000

Hello

CCS version  Version: 10.2.0.00009.

I have a problem with graph tool whenever i use the dual time graph and single time graph in the same project.

If the dual time graph is open and another single time graph is opened, it works ok for that debug session.

But when i stop that session and relaunched the debug session, single time graph always shows the CPU is terminated error. But dual time graph works ok. This is the case for all other subsequent debug launches. If i want to see the variables, i have to reconfigure the single time graph in every debug session. This does not happen when i use only single time or dual time graph at the same time.

Why s this happening.. Is this a bug in ccs.

Regards
Damith

  • Hello Damith,

I tried this with CCS 11 and 10.3.1 and I was not able to reproduce the issue. I will try with CCS 10.2 next but since the Graph tools have not been updated in some time, I am not expecting a different result.

Can I see the entire CCS IDE when the issue happens (especially the Debug view)?

Also, please provide the graph properties (you can export to a file).

    Thanks

  • Hi ki

These are the files you requested.
In the first image you can see the single time graphs were blacked out after second debug session.

im sorry i did a mistake in the question.
Complete blacking out happen in the 3rd session since the graph tools launched.
In the 2nd session, it doesn't black out. It is just not updating anymore.

I launched graph tool like this-  tools>graph> single time or dual time.

    single time graphs properties.

    dual time graph properties.

  • im sorry i did a mistake in the question.

Thank you for clarifying. Can you alsos end a screenshot of the graphs for the 2nd session when it is simply not updating?

  • This is the first time

    This is the 2nd time

    This is the 3rd time

    ...

Evey time after this is like the 3rd time.
It only resets if i closed all the graphs and relaunch it from scratch.

I launched the dual time graph with tools>graph > dual-time and imported a saved grpah prop.
Single time graphs launched from the expression window.

I noticed following things, which may help narrow down the issue.

For the above images, I launched the dual time graph before the single time graphs.
I noticed that this happens only when i first open dual time graphs and then single time graphs.
When i open single time ones first and then dual time one, problem seems to disappear.
But if i open another single time graph after the dual time one, then those graphs suffer the problem while the graphs launched prior to the dual time graph runs without a problem.

I'm sorry if this confuses  you.
But i cannot debug this way since i have to relaunch everything when i used dual time graphs.

I tried this with a c2000ware PWM example and result was same.

Yes this is the key bit of info! I am able to reproduce the issue with CCS 10.2 if I open the dual time graphs first.

However, the issue appears resolved when I use the latest CCS version (11.1). Can you try CCS 11.1 and see if the issue is resolved for you with that version?

    Thanks

    ki

  • Thank you

I will try it and let you know.

  • CCS 11.1 is not available to download. Only 11.0 is visible in the ccs download page

  • Tried with ccs 11.0
    Problem seems to be disappeared

    Thank you for the help

  • Good to hear!

btw - the latest CCS version is available from the main CCS download page:
