If you are seeing a connection issue when the switching frequency is above a certain threshold, then the likely issue is noise from the switching FET is causing signal integrity issues on the JTAG/LAUNCH Pad.
When this happens, do you only see a loss of JTAG connection, or does the device stop working as well?
If you can monitor the JTAG signals or power/ground during switching with a scope we may be able to see the noise and its amplitude.
There are some settings inside CCS to slow down the JTAG connection speed, but if the noise is large these likely won't help.
Another possibility is trying to shield the area of the PCB so that the switching noise doesn't have as much impact. Or if possible get the switches farther away from the LAUNCHXL if possible.
