TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: How can I use the GPIO as output?

Hi, I'm using the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT with the F28335 control card. 

I would like to use the GPIO-39 pin as an output which would later be used as a trigger for my sensor circuit.

I made a simple simulink file to test if the GPIO output and connected an oscilloscope to the GPIO-39 pin(which can be accessed from the circuit marked in red) to check the output voltage.

Well I thought it would be simple task but all I got was 0V reading.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?(maybe I'm inputting wrong value to the matlab GPIO output block?)
