28069 VCU CRC calc

Hello.

I'm using dsp 28069.

I want to calc CRC16 from 0xA001 polynome.

I see that 28069 has a VCU unit wich can calc CRC16 from 0x8005 and 0x1021 polynome (instructions VCRC16P1/P2 on SPRUH18-January 2011-page 541/543).

Can I obtain CRC16 from 0xA001 poly using this instructions ??

Hi Mauro,

The polynomials are hardwired to the instructions so you cannot use polynomials other than the ones specified. The VCU library does have C code equivalent for the CRC16 routine where you could change the polynomial but it doesnt use any VCU instructions so you will have higher cycle counts unfortunately

You can do it , but not directly.
As 0xA001 is the bit by bit reflected form of 0X8005.
if you give the input data stream in reflected form (bit by bit) and you reflect the answer what you get;
this would be same as calculating CRC with 0xA001 polynomial.
(just give it a try!!!!!)
