Benchmarking of math.h library for TMS320C54x and C2000 targets

Hi,

I have to move an application that run on a TMS320C5402 on another target such as:

          1)  28x Fixed-point Series (ex: F2812)

          2)  28x Delfino™ Floating-point Series (ex: F28335)

For this I need the benchmarking of the math.h library (NOT IQ library)  [ functions such as :

         double cos(double x);double cosh(double x);double exp(double x);double fabs(double x); double frexp(double x, int *exp);
         double ldexp(double x, int exp);double log(double x);
         double log10(double x);double pow(double x, double y);double sin(double x);double sinh(double x);
         double tan(double x);double tanh(double x); double sqrt(double x);    ]

for this 3 devices:   TMS320C5402, 28x Fixed-point Series and 28x Delfino™ Floating-point Series.

Do you know where I can find these benchmarking ?

Thanks and Regards,

Mathieu

  • I don't know where to find the benchmark for these standard math functions for the 2000 but you can write a program to do 1000 computations and use gpio pin toggle to determine the approx. time to do 1 function.

    A side note is that double computation does not mean anything to the 2812 which will be extremely slow. Even for the 28335, I believe it is a single-precision only. Double precision might not be supported or being very slow.
