TMS320F28388D: To Disable HRPWM when not Needed and Max Resolution of EPWM?

Hi all!

As I mentioned can we disable high resolution feature of the EPWM modules when not needed? It seems we don't need high pwm during prototyping but need quick solution. Thats why don't wanna deal with high res features.

Also what is the maximum resolution of EPWM module for both cases? For example for 80kHz PWM what is the max available resolution with HRPWM or non HRPWM?

If you do not need HR DEFINITELY disabled it. It is just an additional feature so if not needed go ahead and disabled it.

I would like to do it also but I want to know the max res with normal pwm and HR as well. Lets say EPWM clock is 200MHz and for an edge aligned 80kHz pwm freq then can i adjust the duty with (100/200MHz/80kHz=2500) 0.04 steps from 0% to 100%? And if yes then what is the min step with HRPWM?

0.04 looks okay but according to situation we migh need higher resolution.

For HRPWM the resolution of your edge placement is approx 150ps.

For EPWM , at 200MHz TBCLK, your edge placement is 5ns.
