TMS320F28377D: CAN_RAM_INIT usage

What will be the impact of using one method or the other ?

If the data-bytes are not cleared but the messages object definition are the data-bytes aren't usable anyways right ?

Is it just a question of operation speed required to clera the messages objects vs clearing the full RAM ?

            Are you using bit-fields or Driverlib for your project? Anyway, I see two solutions for a clean approach in the InitCAN function of the F2837xD_can.c file

(1) Add the below lines before the ‘for’ loop: 

CanaRegs.CAN_IF1DATA.all = 0;

CanaRegs.CAN_IF1DATB.all = 0; 

This would ensure the data bytes are cleared as well. 

(2) Don’t use the IFx registers at all for clearing out the mailbox RAM but use CAN_RAM_INIT bit just like the Driverlib. 

We used to be working with bit-fields and are moving to Driverlib on the latest project, but that's for the verification SW.

For the operational application we are using our custom code, that's mainly why I was asking the question in order to correctly specify needs to the SW team.
