TMS320F28069: CCS 7.4 on ARM MAC

Are you tied to CCSv7.4?  We have native versions of CCS for macOS.  I have the latest CCSv11.1.0 installed on an M1-based MacBook air.

If you need to run CCSv7.4 then I would take at the troubleshooting doc at the link below.  It has links to some other forum threads where people have resolved that issue:

Thanks John for you answer, yes I'm tied to CCSv7.4 for some old projects.. For newer projects I have CCSv11 with good results.

I applied the troubleshooting but still is not working. Also, could be because the image on the parallels for ARM must be window 11?

I am going to loop in a colleague to go through some general debugging steps for that error.  I think for now we try to debug as if it were running on native Windows.  The reality is that CCSv7.4 was never validated on Win11 but I would still expect it to work ok.

Can you try opening a DOS command window and browse to:

<CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccs\ccs_base\common\uscif

Then run the following command:

xds100serial.exe

What is the output?

For me, I see something like:

Also, please open Windows Device Manager. If the XDS100v3 drivers are properly installed, you should see something like:

After receive that error I tried to install the driver from here: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/, still the same problem.

It looks like the drivers were not successfully installed. When you installed CCS 7.4, were there any installation errors? 

Please try a fresh reinstall of CCS 7.4. Do not overinstall on top of the existing installation. Either uninstall the previous instalaltion (and delete the folder afterwards) or install in a new empty location.

Before you re-install, do you see the ftd2xxx.dll file in:

<CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccsv7\ccs_base\emulation\windows\xds100_drivers

Check the i386 and amd64 subfoldes

After a complete reinstallation, the problem still being the same

Looks like all the driver install actions are failing.

Here is the one for the XDS100 but all the other ones fail as well.

Do you know which version of Windows 11 you are running.  There was an issue with some of the preview editions and driver signing.  That issue was addressed for the official release.

I am currently installing CCSv7.4 on a windows 11 machine to give it a try.  I uninstalled the XDS100 drivers first.  CCSv7.4 is technically not supported on this version of windows but I am expecting it to work.

Any antivirus running on the WIndows 11 image? If so, can you try disabling it?

Can you trying running as administrator?

My CCSv7.40 install seemed to go fine.  There is an error in the log for the driver but the one I see is expected.  My CCS can communicate with my xds100 based boards ok.

What happens if you try to execute this from a command prompt?  I would make sure to run as admin.

But i'm running this version of Window 11 over Parallels on MAC machine, did you test like this? I disconnected the antivirus and run as administrator the installation and also tried run the xds100serial.exe as admin, nothing seems to work

We are not testing Parallels in any way.  The reality is that your environment is an unsupported combination.  1) CCSv7.4 does not officially support Win11.  2) We do not officially support Parallels.  

That said I am able to use CCSv7.4 on Win11 and we have other users running Parallels so we were hoping that we could get you up and running.

What output do you see if you run the follow from a command prompt: c:/ti/ccsv7/ccs_base/emulation/windows/DPInst64.exe /SE /SW /SA /PATH "c:/ti/ccsv7/ccs_base/emulation/windows/xds100_drivers"
