Hi Experts,

Let me clarify about the Flash API usage.
TMS320F28002x Flash API Version 1.57.00.00 (spnu631) says "TMS320F28002x Flash API is embedded into the Boot ROM of this device. This differs from other C28x devices where the API is wholly software."
a) The Flash APIs in ROM do not need to be copied to the RAM and Flash APIs in ROM are called directly by the user program in RAM. Am I correct?
b) Does all user program including the using ISRs except the Flash APIs have to be copied to RAM and executed for Flash erase/program?
c) With the other device F28034, the Flash API had to be copied to the RAM.  It seemed that the Flash APIs are located in the ROM with F28034 too. Please clarify.

    Hi Hitoshi-san,

    a) No need to copy the flash API from ROM to RAM.  ROM Flash symbols library (available in C2000Ware) should be included in the project.  Yes, User program in RAM can call the flash API functions in ROM.

    b) Yes, there should not be any fetch/read access to the flash bank during an active erase or program operation on it - hence any code (ISRs too) that needs to be executed during an active erase/program operation needs to be copied to RAM.

    c) No need to copy from ROM to RAM as mentioned in (a) above.
