C2000 which has 9 independent timers

While all the C2000 have 3 CPU timers, the PWM modules can act as independent timers as well.  So a device like the TMS320F280025 which had 7 ePWM modules, would have 10 independent timers on-chip.  A PWM module can be configured, but the PWM signal doesn't need to be brought to a pin, so in this way it can act as a timer.

If the PWM modules are needed for PWM function, then we would need to look at a device with more PWMs, that could be used as timers in addition to the 3 CPU timers.
