TMS320F28377S: F28377S DCSM Problem

you are using a bitfield based project? Is it COFF or ELF?

my setting is COFF, why?

I think that may be the reason. The generated CMD/ASM should be in ELF format. Can you try to use a driverlib ELF project and add the DCSM settings and see if it works?

Since you have program the password in device, it is secure device now. You need to provide the password in flash plug-in GUI to be able to program it. You can open the GUI by clicking on Tools -> On-Chip Flash in CCS and then enter the correct password in password fields and then try to program the flash.

when i try with ELF, the compile, it gives an error as below.

i am using CCS v11, there is not tools->on-chip flash, or i coud not see :)...

By the way, you said the device is password protected, so i wanted too this one, but the problem if the password is same, why i can not load program it again??? i will be like this allways?

Vivek Singh can you share a screenshot of where to tool option is?

You'll be able to see that option only after launching the target (debug launch). You can launch the debug and it may try to program the code and  fail (which is ok). After that you should be able to see the Tools option. Now open the GUI and enter the correct passwords in password field and then select the .out file to load again.

When i fill passwords on this GUI, there is not any problem, it can reprogram again. Thank you.

i have a few more question

1- i can not change password anymore, right? because when i unlock Z1 and Z2 and change Passwords, and hit to "Program Password", gives and error again.

Security settings are in OTP (One Time Programmable) hence you can not re-program the same locations again. To enable user to change the security settings like password values, we have LINK POINTER which user can change to choose different Zone Select Block and then program new security settings  there. Please refer the DCSM chapter in device user guide to find more detail on this.

You must change the PSWDLOCK as well because unless you program that, passwords will be accessible (visible) any code as well as debugger which means, if someone can connect to device via debugger then read the password value and use that to unlock the device.

i just try to ask, in some cases for other controllers, when you load secured code to controller, then tried to read memory , you can just see 0xFFFF but in uniflash when i read memory i can see different values, so this means code is not protected, why can i read memory after protected code loaded?

If the memory is secure then you'll see all 0 on this device. after programming, please issue a reset and then check the value. If you still see different value then it means that memory is not configured to be secure.

now i have tried to read in uniflash to memory and i can see values which is different "0".. but this board which ,we have talked above, is secured...

when i have checked Flash Bank 0 sectors, i can see some data and 0xFFFFs, not zeros...

Have you issue reset after programming ? This only means either zone is unlocked using the correct password or flash sector is not configured to be secure. Can you also check this by connecting to CCS ? I am assuming you have below security configuration on this device.

These are not default value. GRABSECT and GRABRAM values have been programmed. Something is not correct. If you have programmed these values then you should see secure flash value as 0x0. Please check this on CCS.

But i read on CCS different values which is sgown below.

What you see in CCS, look correct and since these are not programmed flash is not secure. Look like you have programmed these location with these values earlier and not want to change it but that is not possible because these are  OTP (One Time Programmable) locations. You need to change the link pointer value to choose new Zone Select Block and then program new security setting into that zone select block.

i have replaced my MCU on board with new one, and loaded code by CCS  , later when i try to read memory by UNİFLAS, it tries to connect or when i try to load out file by UNIFLASH it does not load out file to MCU. The protection keys are same on CCS on chip flash and UNIFLASH tools.. what is the meaning of this...

Can you please check for update and install update if there are any to make sure you are using latest SW released.

when i try to load program to MCU to see on chip flash by CCS , it gives an error like this..

with CCS yes, but still can not connect with UNIFLASH..

For Uniflash also you are using waitmode.  Correct ? If you are not able to connect via Uniflash then what Uniflash snapshot you sent ? Also what is the error you are getting from Uniflash when trying to connect ?

i have tried both wait mode adn get/flash mode, on both can not connect... the snapshot is current one, i have filled current values to can connect... sometimes gives an error as "target is not connected", sometimes just wait  "connecting"..like this..

I have looped in out Uniflash expert to provide his feedback on this issue.

Can you try the following? In UniFlash, if you put your device in Wait Mode, then enter your password in the GUI settings, and then try clicking on "Calculate Checksum", is it able to connect to the device and get the checksum? And if not, can you post a screenshot of the error message?

CCS did it, there is not error on CCS

That's weird. The connection sequence between CCS and UniFlash should be exactly the same, so I'm not sure why it is showing different behaviours between the 2 scenarios.

Can you try using the ccxml you are using in CCS with UniFlash? To do this, first locate the ccxml file you are using to launch your debug session in CCS. Then start up the UniFlash GUI, and find the "Create Session From Existing Target Configuration File" section in the initial page, and then click on "Select" a .ccxml file to create a new session and pick the ccxml from CCS.

After that, try the same Checksum sequence again and see if you get the same connection error.

So my last situation is, ( explain step by step)

1- loading program by CCS or uniflash to MCU ( i have not clicked "PROGRAM PASSAWORD"

2-Try to read memory , i can read..

3-loading program by CCS or uniflash to MCU and click "PROGRAM PASSAWORD"

4-Try to read memory, i can not  read , it waits as "Connecting"..or gives an error sometimes as "target is not connected"

5-Changed boot mode to "wait mode", when MCU i at wait mode, i try to read memory, i can connect but all values are "0000"..

so i filled "CSMPSWDx" passwords are truely, why i can not read memory? or can not connect without "wait mode"?or when i connect at wait mode with true passwords, why do i read just zeros??
