Hello Experts,

I am designing a circuit in which I need 1nS control on the PWM side. I read that the c2000 controllers support HRPWM control up to 150pS.

I just wanna know, is it achievable to control the PWM duty cycle and phase down to 1nS?

Also want to know that the TMS320F28379D has a configurable logic block. So it is achievable through that as well?

Vishal,

For EPWM: Yes you have the ability to use HRPWM and get a FINE resolution on your DUTY or your PHASE.

With HR enabled, you can do much better than 1ns.

Quick question, what is your application with the ePWM/HRPWM?

For your query on the CLB,

Yes this device has a CLB, are you using the launchpad/control card or a custom board?

IF you are using a custom board be careful in your device variant selection, some of the F2837xD devices may not have CLB. The datasheet identifies this list.

Hi Nima,

Thank you for your response.

My application is an Active bridge rectifier that needs to operate at ~370KHz. In which, We need 1.1nS of Duty Cycle and Phase control.

The reason for the CLB module is, Currently, we have a similar application that is implemented in an FPGA. So If our RTL team easily access the C2000 peripherals. (Is that possible?)

May I know any other application of the CLB module inside of a microcontroller?

The CLB can be used FOR ANYTHING that you can fit in the logic. You can make COMs peripherals, you can use it as another PWM generator, you can use it to replace external logic... really you can implement custom modules in it.

Are you using C2000 SysConfig to configure your device? It can help you get started with C2000, specifically CLB. But it works for most modules, new support is coming soon too. Have you checked out C2000 Sysconfig?

Hi Nima,

Can we access C2000 peripherals such as I2C, EPWM, etc with CLB? I didn't use Sysconfig till now. I will explore it for future projects.

You have access to EPWM. I2C I don't think so on this device. on F2838x you have access to SPI and SCI.

Check out the TRM Input connections to the CLB or check out the CLB module in SysConfig, it has all of the connections in the gui.
