TMS320F28384D: TMS320F28384D vs TMS320F28388D

Part Number: TMS320F28384D

Hi,

I have a plan to make a project with F28388DZWTS but I can't find stock. I have F28384DZWTQR now. In my project I will also use EtherCAT communication. I know it is supported only F28388x but I also need other peripherals too. I want to know that these two are pin to pin or not ? I think I can develop software's other sides except EtherCAT to gain a time till I have F28388D. Do I think correct ? Will I face problems with F28388D in future if I make hardware and software designs with F28384D in prototype product ? (I will design the hardware and software for F28388D(includes Ethercat) but I am planning to place F28384D for now till I have 388D.)

    Both devices are very much compatible except ECAT and CLB which are not available on F28384D. As long as you include all the required pin configuration and code for ECAT but just not enable it on F28384D, you should be good with this approach.
