Hello Dear TI Team,

I need three timers in my project as follows.

Timer0 = 1 ms (millisecond)
Timer1 = 5 s (second)
Timer2 = 10 us (microsecond)

I am using the following example for these timers.

C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_3_04_00_00\driverlib\f2837xd\examples\cpu1\timer

However, I could not provide the configuration settings for the timer values I specified above that I needed in my project. Can you help with this?

I ran this example. However, I could not configure the timer for the following values.

Hi Sinan,

You can change the period by changing the parameter to the configCPUTimer function in the example.

Are you getting nay compile errors or runtime errors while changing that?

Hi Veena,

I don't get compile or runtime errors when changing the configCPUTimer function parameter in the example.

I did not understand why the following numbers were used for 1 ms, 5 s, 10 us

configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER0_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 1000000); // 1 ms (millisecond)
configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER1_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 5000000); // 5 s  (second)
configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER2_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 1000000); // 10 us (microsecond)

As mentioned in the example, the parameter is in us. I updated the code as follows and it seems to work.

configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER0_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 1000); // 1 ms (millisecond)
configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER1_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 5000000); // 5 s (second)
configCPUTimer(CPUTIMER2_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 10); // 10 us (microsecond)

Also, I have a few questions for you.

1. The compiler gives warning messages as seen in the images below. Are these warning messages important? What do I need to do to resolve these warnings?

2. There is the following command in line #283 of the cpuTimer0 interrupt function. Should I write this command line inside other interrupt functions (cpuTimer1, cpuTimer2)?

#283 Interrupt_clearACKGroup(INTERRUPT_ACK_GROUP1);

It is not a warning. It is an advice that can be used to enhance the performance. For more details regarding the fp_mode, you can refer here

#283 Interrupt_clearACKGroup(INTERRUPT_ACK_GROUP1);

No, it is needed only for those interrupts within PIE. Timer1 and Timer2 interrupts are not part of PIE. Timer0 is part of PIE group 1. Hence you need to ack the group 1

Hi Veena,

I merged this project with another drivelib project. However, currently CPUTIMER0, CPUTIMER1 and CPUTIMER2 are producing 120 ns. What could be the cause of this problem?

CPUTIMER0, CPUTIMER1 and CPUTIMER2 should produce the following values. I was able to see these values before.

Hi Veena,

I observed the register values. The CPU timer settings of the other F28379D project are different. Therefore I could not get the signals I wanted from CPUTIMER0, CPUTIMER1 and CPUTIMER2. I made the CPU timer settings of the other F28379D project the same as the running project.

My problem solved.
