TMS320F28377S: Developing a project on launch pad with different DSP then actual production boards.

Part Number: TMS320F28377S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28379D, , C2000WARE

We are developing a project based on TMS320F28377S DSP. Since a development board is not available for this particular chip so we have purchased LAUNCHXL-F28379D development board for initial firmware development and testing. Please advise on what will be the best approach for our development so that there are minimum migration efforts to the actual DSP. I understand that there can be multiple target configuration files,  multiple linker command files & build configuration but the devices have different libraries and related folders.  Kindly guide me in this regard.

  • Hi Asad,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your TMS320F28377S DSP project.  You download all the latest development tools such as CCS and C2000ware.  In C2000Ware, once installed, you may navigate to C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_01_00_00\device_support\f2837xd\examples\cpu1

and look at all the examples there.  You will be able to see another directory called "dual" at the same level as cpu1  However, you can just stick with CPU1 and you will get equivalent functionality.  In CCS you can simply ignore CPU2 etc.,
